K-k-k-k-k-kochi

My itinerary allowed for a day in Kochi and I certainly made the most of it. I had my own tour guide who took me around to the Dutch Palace, St Francis Church (built in 1503) and Fort Cochin with the cantilevered Chinese fishing nets. It was such a pretty place to visit and the rain held off most of the time we were there. I had a prawn and coconut dish for lunch, washed down with a Kingfisher beer and continued on to our final destination of the day – the Jewish Synagogue. Unfortunately you cannot take photos inside but all the hanging coloured glass lamps were both kitsch and beautiful. Walking back to the car, through Jew Town was so difficult – so many lovely things I desperately wanted to purchase!

At my request, the day finished at a cafe called ‘teapot’. It was gorgeous – countless teapots hung from the roof, sat on shelves and covered tables. The tea list was exciting in and of itself. I whiled away my final moments in this place drinking my vanilla tea. I could have sat there the whole afternoon but alas it was time to head to the beaches!
