A Few Highlights

A glass of red on the rooftop. Mika. Climbing the external fire stairs. International Dinner. Punch-up = heather+matty+myself. Feminist paper. Lydia Pointner. Bunny Party. Photo-taking. Ice-cream in the city. Mumma's impending visit. I love vienna!

So I decided I would start with a topic sentence as I would an essay because there is this horrible person sitting at their computer attacking my blog, so this allows those who get about 3 seconds before the page diverts to get a summarised version of what I've been doing.

So for starters, uni is out of control - illegal amounts of work - essays, presentations, assignments, group work and too many classes. Clearly someone is struggling to understand that the kids who study in english are majority on erasmus and do not want to write 12 page essays for boring subjects. I literally have this one paper where I had to be all feminist - I hardly agreed with anything I wrote! There is this one class though - International M&A's - taught by partners of a law firm who have all the accolades and we have class at their firm - our classroom has a chandelier in it! Then we get served refreshments at half time oh plus I love the subject itself too. Makes Fridays a joy.

We had an international dinner at our housing for all the exchange kids. The food was incredible - our addition to the mix - nicht so much. Sabrina, Herman and I decided on the way home from class we would cook something up. We had one hour to buy food and prepare it so we opted for chicken nuggets and fries - somewhat embarrassing. Mind you we are from Canada, the Netherlands and Australia and we did take an American meal. Oh well!

Went to the casino with Shan + lover and his friend. Lost money but way fun.

Lydia's lover arrived a bit ago and we've had two pretty memorable nights out... One was the Bunny Party - an easter shindig. We took awhile getting there on account of our metro station having a party in the subway AND getting extremely lost but when we finally talked our way inside, it was a fabs, late night. Finding our jackets though at the end of the night - not so fun. Now I realise why they have coat check. The other evening started with a massive block of milka and then to zwolf-apostelkeller, a heuriger, which had never ending underground floors. It was like a maze. All was going wonderfully until some of the roof fell in Lydia's drink - unfortunate. We moved onto Kaktus - a favourite in Bermuda Triangle and headed home sometime after that.

Sunday night was spent with the lovely Lydia Pointner. Being a local she took me to her favourite place for dinner - Le Bol - LOVED IT and then to Hotel Sacher for the official sachertorte - a Viennese specialty - yum but a lot of hype around a chocolate cake!

In other news, Mika concert, what a pleasant surprise - great night!

Last night was hilarious. The windows here don't have fly screens so you can literally climb out the window. I scored well and I have a roof right outside my window so we tested it out last night. Matt, Heather and I sat out there with a block of milka and a glass of red - glorious. We then climbed up the external fire ladders to the eighth floor. Safety Sam probably wouldn't have approved but it was great fun. We then got in a big fight, wrestled it out and went to ice-cream to calm us down.

Then I finally come to the present. Mum is on a plane - ON HER WAY HERE. I am so excited I'm worried I'll burst or just lose sleep.
