There are bear statues EVERYWHERE! It took us awhile to figure out the significance of them and we did we started taking photos of every one we saw – below are a few. The symbol of a bear is designed to be an illusion to the city’s founder, Mark Brandenburg, nicknamed, "Albrecht the Bear".At the end of the 19th century, the bear received its official status as a symbol of Berlin.
